Founder's Story

Cedric's journey in the footwear industry began over a decade ago at a running store, where he combined hands-on experience with academic research on gait and biomechanics while pursuing his master's degree. His passion for performance and movement led him to hold various positions in the industry, eventually overseeing the global distribution of leading footwear brands.

It was his travels to Japan that had the greatest impact on him. The design philosophy, precision, and cultural values ​​like Ikigai resonated deeply with him. Clean aesthetics, intentional craftsmanship, and mindful living became guiding principles.

Recognizing a significant gap in the natural footwear market, a sector he had long been passionate about, Cedric took the plunge. He launched Notace with a clear vision: to create footwear that honored natural movement while embodying the Japanese approach to design and detail. From the outset, he collaborated with development teams in Japan, infusing the product creation process with shared values ​​of simplicity, intention, and refinement.

Notace was born from this intersection of performance, philosophy, and precision, and continues to be shaped by the spirit of Japan.
